This week is National Fire Prevention Week!
This year’s theme is cooking safety. According to National Fire Protection Agency, cooking is the leading cause of home fires, with nearly half of all home fires involving cooking equipment; cooking is also the leading cause of home fire injuries.
This means there’s plenty you can do, starting in your own home! Visit the Chestermere Fire Department any day from October 8 – 14 from 6pm to 8pm at the Fire Hall for a chance to learn more about fire prevention and take part in challenges and activities for kids and adults as part of their open house. Plus, explore their equipment, facilities and learn more about their duties as Fire Fighters?
