Leadership & Innovation
Morgan Matheson – Morgan’s exceptional contributions to our community have created ripples of positive change, making Chestermere a better place for all. Her commitment to fostering connections among women is evident in the vibrant community she built on Facebook. With over 1600 members, this platform has become a hub for camaraderie, friendship, and addressing social needs, truly embodying the spirit of inclusivity.
Not stopping there, Morgan is a dedicated volunteer at the Chestermere Food Bank, where she serves as a Board Member and Director of Events. Her tireless efforts have played a pivotal role in the success of various events, from Fill the Fire Truck to golf tournaments, food drives, and hampers. Through her unwavering commitment, she has demonstrated that community service is not just a duty but a heartfelt passion.
In a true display of leadership and compassion, Morgan, alongside four other remarkable individuals, co-founded the Chestermere Women’s Crisis Society. This non-profit organization collaborates with existing resources to provide crucial support such as emergency accommodation, counseling, legal assistance, and basic needs for vulnerable women facing domestic abuse. Morgan’s dedication to creating a safe haven for those in need speaks volumes about her commitment to social justice and community welfare.
Morgan nomination for this award is a testament to her outstanding volunteerism and leadership. Her open communication, engaging approach, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on the lives of Chestermere residents. Through her selfless acts, she has truly elevated the quality of life in our community, embodying the values that the Chestermere Citizens Awards stand for.

Mike Koroll, a.k.a Dr Giggles – For many years, Mike has been a steadfast supporter of the Food Bank, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of the less fortunate in Chestermere. His long-standing dedication has left an indelible mark on the lives of individuals and families facing challenges, contributing significantly to their well-being and reminding us all of the power of compassion.
But Mike’s generosity doesn’t stop there! During the Halloween season, he transforms his passion and creativity into the magical Dr. Giggles House of Pain—a community haunted house that goes beyond thrills and chills. This spooky spectacle is not just about entertainment; it’s a heartwarming endeavor aimed at providing joy and excitement to families, all while supporting the Food Bank. Mike’s commitment to creating lasting community memories resonates with the spirit of togetherness and generosity that defines Chestermere.
Mike’s efforts extend far beyond the realm of entertainment. His dedication to making Chestermere a better place sets a shining example of selfless giving and community engagement. Through his work, he not only brings smiles to faces but also fosters a sense of community and togetherness that transcends the ordinary.

Eric Sinclair – Eric’s efforts in building Chestermere’s community haven’t gone unnoticed. For years, Eric has been the driving force behind the scenes, leading the team at Chestermere’s No Frills with passion and purpose. But his impact extends far beyond the aisles of the grocery store. Eric is a true community champion, and his efforts in building Chestermere’s sense of togetherness have made a difference in our community.
Eric gladly embraces the community at his business. He goes beyond being just a store owner—his friendly face and helping hand make Chestermere No Frills more than just a place to shop; it’s a hub of community connection. Eric fosters an environment where everyone feels not just welcome but truly valued
What sets Eric apart is his unwavering support for local organizations and community initiatives. Whether it’s a school fundraiser, a community event, or a local charity, Eric is there, offering his support and contributing to the betterment of Chestermere. His commitment to giving back has woven the fabric of community spirit into the very essence of No Frills.
