We, the team in the Communications Department at the City of Chestermere are thrilled when our residents engage with the information we share on our social media pages. We love that we have social media to tell our stories, to share important information, and to be involved in conversations with our residents about our city.
However, there are some rules we all must abide by to ensure our conversations are honest, transparent and welcoming to all who may want to participate. With that, it is the responsibility of our team to moderate all comments and all profiles.
The city has a Social Media Policy that we use as our guide, so if your comment is viewed by our team as untrue, bullying in nature, or sharing misinformation to steer the conversation in a negative direction, we will delete the comment. We also will block profiles that are fake.
If you have found your comment was deleted, you can refer to our Social Media Policy (Policy 124, found here), to learn more about what is tolerated and what is not.
Below is a portion of our social media policy for those who may not be familiar with it.
